Team Detroit, a collaboration of five popular PR firms, has announced the addition of their newest client, ScottsMiracle-Gro, to their client roster. The PR agency will be responsible for communications planning for the gardening product company.

Consisting of five PR agencies, JWT, Y&R, Wunderman, Ogilvy and Mindshare, Team Detroit is making waves as a whole new type of PR group. Rather than a complete merge of the five companies, the team works separately . . . as well as together, depending on the task. With over 1,000 different people available for projects, the brainstorming that can go on is impressive. When a boutique firm is required, one of the companies will take on a project. Otherwise, they work together, each contributing experience from years of being in business. It is a unique way to provide public relations services and one that has clients pouring in.

“The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company has built tremendous brand equity within the industry as well as recognition and trust among consumers,” said George S. Rogers, President and CEO, Team Detroit. “We look forward to this new partnership and the numerous opportunities it presents. ScottsMiracle-Gro represents an important expansion of Team Detroit’s client base and builds on recent new business wins from Warrior Sports and Bell Helicopter.”

ScottsMiracle-Gro is the biggest marketer of branded consumer lawn and garden care products in the world. They have done almost $3 billion in sales worldwide. Their products include Fertiligene(R), Miracle-Gro(R), and Weedol(R), among others.
