So You Think You Can Dance Graced By A Touch of Katie Holmes’ Class

Katie Holmes can’t dance, but in the words of a good ole southern boy, “She shore is pretty.” Beyond her modest vaudeville talents, the popular Mrs. Tom Cruise exhibited something some of the most talented song and dance acts fail to these days, class. In a montage of Judy Garland hits, Katie makes the best use of her statuesque figure, and though not as elegant as Ginger Rogers, considering the venue and the time for preparation, she does okay.

The 100th episode of “So You Think You Can Dance” saw sad farewells to exquisite performers and the continued triumphs of still others. The highlight of the show, at least class wise, was Katie Holmes. Katie, though not exactly Judy Garland herself, performed segments of that legendary performer for the TV and studio audiences.

An elegant lady by anyone’s account, Holmes also donated her fee to the Dizzy Feet Foundation, exhibiting a caring for the dance arts, if not the 10,000 hours it takes to become even a decent dancer. Holmes received some criticism for lip syncing her vocals in the Garland presentation, but this writer considers the essence of the performance more inportant.

Shows like SYTYCD exhibit some superb talent and mirror shows from back in “the day” which showcased some of the finest performers ever seen. Holmes’ performance, while not exactly her forte, reveal a little of what it “used to be” to be a celebrity for a world full of make believe ones. I wonder if Tom can sing or dance, all I have ever seen him do outside of acting that was exceptional is run. Anyway, entertainment should always be as rich in talent, and exhibit a touch of class like this popular series.
