In our coverage of the entertainment world, every once in a while, we have the opportunity to talk with not only prominent celebrities, but rising ones with great potential.
From our perspective, this aspect of news is fairly exciting too. The other day we had the chance to interview just such a talent, Naresh K (website), International model and actor. (See the gallery at the end, or visit Naresh’s Facebook)
Not long ago Everything PR News did some pretty extensive coverage of the Salman Kahn film Veer. During that series of stories we interfaced with one of the production managers for the UK crew of the film Naila Mughal. Naila, as it turns out, also represented several stars of Veer and other films. She arranged several interviews with the cast and crew of the Eros International release for us.
Last week I contacted her to see what may be on the horizon in film, and this is when she introduced us to a fascinating young model and actor, Naresh K. The following is an interview we conducted with he and Naila.
Just for context, Naresh is an extremely fit and striking looking actor, so some of the questions revolve around this aspect of his career.
EPR – Naresh, Thanks so much for taking your time to answer a few questions for our readers.
Naresh K – My pleasure, and thank you for your time.
EPR – It is obvious you take your fitness and appearance very seriously?
Naresh K – I’ve always been very active since childhood. Even in school I was always the first one to join extracurricular activities such as; football, tennis, cricket, and swimming – just to name a few. Ive always taken pride in my appearance, but being a part of this industry one has to not only look good but feel good too. So, following a strict healthy diet and a rigorous training regime is essential.
EPR – Your chosen career path seems fairly set in stone given your modelling, dedication to on camera appearance, lifestyle and etc. When did you first get interested in movies? Is there a particular film which appealed to you?
Naresh K – I’ve always had a passion for the performing arts. From school plays to amateur dramatics. Growing up in a family of movie buffs also increased my passion for becoming an actor. I’ve always enjoyed different genres of movies from Hollywood to Bollywood, Shakespeare to Mahabharata. So, trying to choose one movie which appeals to me is always very difficult.
EPR - Being in England, do you see this as an advantage in seeking starring roles, and why?
Naresh K - As an actor I don’t think it matters where you’re from or where you are. You’re practically a nomad, you go wherever your job takes you.
EPR – It seems natural, given your heritage and obvious looks, for you to be looking to Bollywood for screen appearances. Is there a Bollywood actor who you feel inspired by?
Naresh K – I am inspired by so many different actors in bollywood, from Dilip Kumar to Amir Khan, and beyond.
EPR - Your manager Naila has said you are not looking for “just any” role. This is sound strategy, but one many are not able to follow if time grows short. How dedicated are you to doing what we might call “the right” roles, the right path?
Naresh K – Being a very hardworking and dedicated individual, I want to do character driven roles and be a versatile actor, so waiting for a particular opportunity is the right path to take especially if you want longevity in this industry.
EPR – If someone called you “the Bollywood Brad Pitt” would you take this as a compliment, or do you not see yourself in that category?
Naresh K – Brad Pitt to me is a very versatile actor that has played numerous and diverse roles. Being compared to him would be biggest compliment, as he is a very talented actor.
EPR – (question for Naila Mughal) – Naila, tell us how you came to be Naresh’s manager?
Naila Mughal – When I first met Naresh, I instantly felt that he had the potential to make a difference with his acting career. First of all, he is very hard working, talented, enthusiastic and very focused. Of course, he obviously also has a great physique and sticks to his strict nutrition plan to maintain a good body. This, as you know, takes a great deal of dedication. Secondly, Naresh is very established as an interntaional model, and has had good acting experience. This combination, plus that “little something extra” which is hard to describe, made me sure that with the right opportuniites, he should go far. I am sure my decision to become his manager was fairly obvious, and I will support him the best way I can.
EPR – Naresh & Naila, thanks very much for this opportunity to talk briefly with you both. We wish you all the best, and look forward to seeing and hearing from you again soon.
Naresh K & Naila – (In unison) Thank you Phil, and we expect to have some interesting news for you and your readers very soon.
Just so the reader knows, relating interviews in type is fairly awkward. It is so difficult to convey the subtle nuances of people, especially actors with their rather charismatic aspects and all. A hint about Naresh for you, the guy is a rock. If you never lifted weights or trained, that simply means he is trained to the point there is nothing but bone, muscle and sinew remaining.
The reason I mention this is the dedication and pain required to take things so far. Given the guy’s striking appearance anyway, I really don’t see any way he won’t be successful in Bollywood or Hollywood for that matter.
I leave you with a photo gallery of Naresh K, so you can glimpse a little of what I am talking about. As a tongue in cheek comment, I will say this too. My brother once told me if I trained to a certain level, there would alway be a place for me on the various athletic teams, as it turned out he was absolutely right – there has always been a spot.
For Naresh, I am sure this is true in acting. If he can put two sentences together (and you see this from his answers) Bollywood and/or Hollywood surely have many spots for him. My bet is he won’t have to start with bit parts. Best of luck Naresh, you have great people like Naila (right) behind you already.
