Many millions of people will be tuned in tonight to find out who represents our planet from the finale of the Miss World Pageant in South Africa. Lovely contestants from over 100 countries have been competing for this coveted crown this past week. The Miss World crown will be passed from Ksenia Sukhinova (right) as the contest winds down. Former Miss World, India’s Priyanka Chopra (2000), one of Bollywood’s most famous actresses, will also be on hand. For our prediction, see the full size image at the end of this article. Final: Miss Gibraltar Crowned Miss World.

The show starts at 15:00 GMT, but Everything PR News offers up these picks as a preliminary to the show. Readers can visit the Miss World website to make their own predictions and read other interesting tidbits about this year’s contest. Here are our top 5 picks for the title of Miss World 2009.

italy

Miss Italy – Alice Taticchi

Alice is a student at the University of Economics in Perugia. Alice is a model, pianist, and obviously an extraordinarily beautiful lady. She is 19, and from her interview appears to be refreshingly honest. Interestingly, Alice’s favorite food is pizza, and like many other of the contestants, she maintains a Facebook profile. Check out her video interview as well on her Miss World pages.

Reasons for selection as Miss World – Most beautiful, most down to Earth and honest contestant, most elegant contestant.

puerto rico one

Miss Puerto Rico – Jennifer Colon Alvarado

An architecture student at the Polytechnic University in Puerto Rico, Jennifer is interested in fine art and classical music. Like Alice above, she likes to play volleyball as well. Jennifer is also a model and apparently a very spiritual person too.

Philosophy statement – “Mahatma Ghandi said: Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will, and my brother is an example of that , he has inspired not only my life but also the life of many persons, and that is why I admire him a lot.”

Reasons for selection as Miss World – Obvious beauty, elegance, ideals, interestingly provocative images for a contestant. HOT

serbia

Miss Serbia – Jelena Markovic

Jelena is a 21 year old law student who practices karate and singing among many other diverse interests. Her ambition resides in TV and journalism, and she is an advocate for AIDS and cancer charities.

Philosophy insight statement – “The man who has inspired me the most was one man who is selling chestnuts in the street. When it is cold, hot, raining, he is always smiling and wishes me a nice day.”

Reasons for selection as Miss World – Striking beauty, elegant evening gown appearance, classic beauty, THE EYES

austria

Miss Austria – Anna Hammel

Anna is studying economics and administration. Her hobbies include playing piano and show dancing. She was European Show Dancing Champion this year. Anna also maintains a Facebook profile, drop in and say hi.

Philosophy insight statement – “Live as if you will die tomorrow. Learn as if you will live forever”.

Reasons for selection as Miss World – Well, she is gorgeous, isn’t that enough? Seriously, Anna appears to be one of those ladies who is even more provocative and beautiful in person than she is on the runway. Call this genuine hotness if you need a term. The image right is from her Facebook profile and not one of the more contrived ones.

georgia

Miss Georgia – Tsira Suknidze

Tsira is a university student studying law. She enjoys singing, dancing, playing piano and aerobics. A classical and jazz music fan. Tsira is an interesting beauty in that she possesses more of what Audrey Hepburn did than anyone we have seen in some time. A sort of “beyond elegance and grace quality”, if you will.

Philosophy insight statement – Tsira’s motto is; “Say what you mean, mean what you say and do what you promise to do”.

Reasons for selection as Miss World – For a woman of only 19, Tsira possesses an almost surreal grace and beauty. This is a quality which cannot be described actually, but one that is seen and felt. The other 5 contestants have some of the best qualities any Miss World winner should possess, but Tsira? We include a full size image below which expresses this. If Hollywood is not on the phone with her after this article, they have gone stupid.

If Tsira does not win, the world will have missed a good chance at a stellar representative.

Updated Winner and Finalist List

Miss Gibraltar, Kaiane Aldorino, was crowned Miss World moments ago.

The first runner up was Miss Mexico, followed by Miss South Africa (big surprise there). Everything PR News obviously struck out on this year’s pageant, we did not even have a contestant in the semi-finals. I guess our taste is not the same as the judges (whom I personally think are blind as bats). Any way, we wish to congradulate Miss Aldorino, she is a beatiful lady who will do the world proud. As for Hollywood? Do not forget what I said!
