Jennifer Aniston Sex Tape Goes Viral

It’s creative, it’s fun, and it features a sexy shot of Jen’s wind-swept hair, while she drinks SmartWater. No, this is not what you expect: no nudity, no pornography, and you will not see the actress in any embarrassing pose. This is smart marketing, a video made to promote SmartWater – a smashing success, with more than 2,000,000 YouTube views since it launched, on March 7, 2011.

The video is a witty parody, poking fun at all the clichés ever used in mineral water commercials: dancing babies (not necessarily on skates), talking animals, double rainbows, a crotch kick and sexy innuendos. It ends with Aniston saying: “In closing, I would like to say that SmartWater is the purest-tasting water there is,” after which she asks her three nerdy “web gurus” consultants: “What are we going to call this video?” “Jen Aniston Sex Tape?” one of them replies. Aniston’s response? “I love it!” And the fans love it too.

Below is the video that made SmartWater a legend in less than 48 hours, an example of smart video marketing. This is how many other companies could leverage the power of the social media to make their videos go viral (or “virus”) – but of course, not many companies can afford Jenifer Aniston. The video below may not inspire you to drink SmartWater, but it does push the brand through, and whether you are a Janifer Aniston fan or not, you will not forget it. Jennifer Aniston has created the ultimate viral video, no matter what the media predicted.
