The Wait For Jacqueline Fernandez and Aladin Is Over
Late last month we covered the music release of Bollywood’s most anticipated new film Aladin. Today Everything PR News would like to share some exclusive stills and a synopsis of the film which will be released to theaters worldwide on Friday. Eros Entertainment was kind enough to send us great images and the news of this release.
The film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and stars; Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh and the higly anticipated Jacqueline Fernandez in her film debut.
Everyone loves a great story, and the legendary Aladin is perhaps one of the best examples of a classic there is. Eros, in conjunction with a superb crew and cast, appears to have captured the true spirit of this age old story, imbued it with a superb soundtrack, and then superimposed it upon a wonderful cinematic set of effects. Below is the synopsis of the film followed by some additional news and comments.
The Story
In finding the secret of Aladin’s lamp, the reader and the films fans may just find out some secrets about themselves, or so the legend and Eros’ latest offering suggest. The film begins:
Aladin (Riteish Deshmukh) is a young man who shares little other than the name of the protagonist of this famous fairy-tale. An Orphan since childhood, he now lives in a little house in Khwaish. Madly in love with the most beautiful girl in the world – Jasmine (Jacqueline Fernandez), Aladin love quest is constantly thwarted by his arch nemesis Kasim (Sahil Khan). Since their school days, Kasim has bullied and belittled Aladin, jokingly and cruelly making him rub lamps to make the genie appear. But Aladin, who knows he is no fairy-tale hero and that nothing will happen, simply ran away to escape ridicule.
Aladin has run all his life, but now Jasmine is here, and a strange thing happens. Jasmine gives Aladin a lamp! As fate would have it Kasim bullies him into rubbing it: This time, to everyone’s amazement, a genie (Amitabh Bachchan) actually appears! The genie follows Aladin home, adamant, insisting on giving Aladin three wishes. Against all Aladin’s protestations, the impish, trouble-making, wise-cracking, “rock star” genie follows our hero around, even into his private thoughts, granting him wishes one and then another until? Dancing and frolicking ensues, but then there is another side of the tale.
Super-cool and ultimately-evil magician (Sanjay Dutt) is using a magic mirror to Google Aladin. His goal? Kill our hero and make off with the lamp and retrieve his lost powers (for even Ringmaster was once a genie. Aladin’s three wishes run out after which the Ringmaster enters Khwaish, setting the stage of an ultimate battle between good and evil.
What will be the end of this new age story of magic, heroism and wonder? Did Aladin find the lamp or was it some mystical power within the lamp which found our hero? Is there more here than meets the eye, and what of our heroin Jasmine? Well, no symopsis would suffice to end this wonderful story would it?
The End or The Beginning?
Stories like this never have an end truly. With the magic of movie making, wonderful song, great dance and expecially a cast of wonderful characters, Aladin looks as if it will be all everyone expected and anticipated. As for beginnings, the lovely Jasmine may just find her way into the hearts of audiences everywhere. You will have to watch and see, but my bet is – the movie and Jacqueline Fernandez’s part in it are the start of something big.
