The much expected trailer promoting the last part of everyone’s favorite young wizard’s adventures, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was an interesting one to watch. Darker than all previous films and trailers in the Harry Potter franchise, looking less British and showing the prominent marks of high-budget Hollywood productions, it is thrilling, it makes your adrenaline race and as others have put it, it definitely gives you the goosebumps.
While the end (or supposed end) of any ongoing story is difficult to accept, the anticipation and the desire to see the outcome on the screen is more important for most fans. Yet apparently in order to prolong their pleasure, there will be not one, but two films telling the story of the Deathly Hollows and the final face off between Harry and Voldemort. Was the decision made to avoid cutting out big chunks of the original JK Rowling book, which always happens when turning it into a movie? Maybe, but if the first part is good enough, it’s an extremely smart marketing move. But first, let’s watch the trailer!
Harry Potter and his friends are definitely closer to adulthood than childhood in this final bit and I wonder how the bond between preadolescent fans and the movies will evolve. For those who have grown with the movie, there’s no danger, but will there be the same level of magical astonishment for the younger ones? The Deathly Hollows seems less playful, more tragic and scary, but judging by the trailer alone, it might have what it takes to make a memorable ending.
The Harry Potter brand is currently at its best, with a dedicated theme park – Wizarding World of Harry Potter, that was launched only a few days ago, and a LEGO computer game to complement the movies, books and other products being sold by the same franchise. The two movies will keep us hooked for this year and the next, followed by DVDs and probably more games and visitors to the park. As it happens with all long running stories I have to wonder: is this the end, or will there be another sequel or prequel or spin-off in the next few years? What do you think?

Rafy, it’s a must see for me as well! As for the couples on screen, as i said, chemestry and what works for us are not what powers decisions :(
Starkers, I don’t know about you, but I for one have noticed a habit, a bad one, of film and tv series producers -if a couple has great chemestry and they would make sense together to anyone, then it’s never going to happen :D I don’t know why, but they either dance around each other and never make a bold move, or they are hooked up with other people which just makes it even more annoying :)
Definitely a must see. And i agree with Starkers, there should be a Harry & Hermione, not a Harry and Ginnie
I think in any future Potter books, Rowling ought to have Hermione divorce that slacker git Ron and marry Harry. Watching Hermione mope onscreen over Ron in the Half Blood Prince movie was excruciating, and it comes off even worse than the books. Hermione risked her life for Harry numerous times, she saved his bacon numerous times, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe have incredible chemistry onscreen, but we’re supposed to believe Harry sees Hermione as a SISTER?
Man, Harry’s gayer than Dumbledore.
Also, I’d like to see Snape return as a portrait in the Headmaster’s office, and interact with Harry’s kid – the one named after Snape. That could be gold.
