Chocolate Day and Other Valentines Traditions
People in India have some of the most interesting customs. Some, especially virbrant and enthusiastic, Indian people are after all enthusiastic. Accordingly, today is Chocolate Day, a precursor to Valentines. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, why not a day for chocolate?
The quest for love and the expression of it is not exclusive to western cultures, maybe not even as virulent as in other places around the globe. So, Everything PR News dedicates today to the often bitter sweet relationship chocolate has in relationships.
Chocolate day in India is part of a countdown to Valentines for most there. Beginning with Rose Day on the 7th, on to Propose Day on the 8th, and continuing past Chocolate Day on to Teddy Day, Promise Day, Kiss Day, and finally Hug Day, the lead in to Valentines often proves substantial for the object of one’s desire obviously.

This most interesting celebration leading up to the “big day” not only ensures every Valentines list is completed (imagine forgetting Kiss Day for instance), but if you think about it the Indian system might be something of a marketing bonanza compared to its western counterpart.
Interestingly, there are actually three Chocolate Days in India beginning with today and continuing through July 7th and National Chocolate Day on October 28th. Who would have thought people in India would be so fascinated with something as seemingly western as cocoa beans made into delightful and tantalizing morsels? Who do you love, and how much? Enough to celebrate them for a week?
Chocolate love comes in so many varieties too. There’s liquid love, logo love, heart shaped love, contained and un-contained chocolate love of every description – for sale even. Sadly, instant delivery is not available but Amazon is working on it. Maybe preparing for Teddy Day is advisable?
Happy Chocolate Day world!
